SHOWJUMPING AND TRAIL - optional events

SHOWJUMPING
The showjumping course will be built according to the usual requirement for building a side saddle jumping course. A schedule of showjumping will be published 20.8. 2010 - riders will get the schedule when arriving at the riding arena. For others there will be a diagram of the course available on our www pages and Facebook.
Showjumping up to 90 centimetres (without restrictions).
The showjumping course will consist of 8 obstacles with one combination. If more than one clear round or if more than one rider has the same penalty points then there will be a timed jump off.

TRAIL
The trail will be built according to the usual requirements for building the trails for western competitions with reference to the specifics of riding sidesaddle. Complexity of the trail will conform to the showjumping.�
The course of the trail will be published 20.8. 2010 - riders will get a map of the course when they arrive at the arena. For others there will be a drawing available on our www pages and Facebook.

GROUPS AND CATEGORIES
Junior – novice
A category for riders up to 18 years, riding sidesaddle for the first year, able to control the horse on their own, without a leaders help. Reading of the dressage test is permitted. This category is judged by a panel of judges.

Junior – open
A category for riders up to 18 years, which have experience with public presentation of horses and participation in sidesaddle competitions. Reading of the dressage test is permitted. This category is judged by a panel of judges.

Adult - novice
A category for novice riders, without much experience of public presentation of horses and starting in sidesaddle for the first year. Reading of the dressage test is permitted. This category is judged by a panel of judges.
The panel of judges may reclassify the rider starting for the first year to the category Adult – open in reasonable cases.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SADDLERY AND HORSE EQUIPMENT
The horse saddlery and the other equipment has to meet the general demands for horse equipment in the sphere of protection of animals. Saddlery and other equipment must not hurt the horse or cause discomfort.
SIDESADDLES – for dressage competitions two pommel sidesaddles with any type of protective stirrups are required. Riders using other types of saddles without the lower pommel and riders using reitgurts will not be allowed to enter the arena for safety reasons. Saddles which do not meet the requirement of this category are permitted only to enter the category „historical costumes“.
BRIDLES - bridles have to match the requirements for bridles used for showjumping, or dressage competitions.
REQUIREMENTS FOR RIDERS EQUIPMENT
RIDERS DRESS - The dress code is a ladies riding dress, a combination of a short coat and a riding apron. Every rider = a riding helmet.
Riders need not wear side saddle habits if they do not have one and may ride in a black short coat, white blouse and white breeches due to the high costs of buying the whole riding ensemble.
A black riding apron in a suitable size will be available to borrow for riding in the arena, you may ride without an apron if you wish and will not be penalised for this.
OTHER AIDS – Riders are allowed to use artificial riding aids - a whip, a dressage whip, a riding cane and a spur. Each of these aids has to meet the standard of S.S.A.
